After watching Before Stonewall and how the Stonewall Inn was a popular gay bar that began the gay liberation movement, it reminded me about the idea of speakeasies. Much like Stonewall Inn being a gay bar when being a homosexual was a prohibition at that time, this secret club very much connotes the similar idea. However, with the current connections within higher class societies, it is easier to use money to keep the secret under wraps.
